Nik is co-author of Apple Aperture 3 for Photographers, and two editions of
The Independent Guide to the iPhone and iPhone 3G. He co-wrote and edited four editions
of The Ultimate iPod Guide and one of The Independent Guide to the Mac.

Aperture 3 for Photographers
This 320-page book for professional photographers shows readers how to get the most out of Apple's high-end image management application. Written to coincide with the release of a new edition of the application, Nik and co-author Ken worked closely with Apple to secure pre-release copies of the software, complete the manuscript within six weeks, and ensure it was the first book published on the subject.

The Independent Guide to the iPhone
Now in its second edition, The Independent Guide to the iPhone was rewritten to incorporate the new features Apple introduced when it unveiled the iPhone 3G. Building on the success of the first release, this 196-page book racked up impressive sales, and being an A5-format publication was a unique addition to the Dennis portfolio. Since its initial publication, it has been licensed for use in the US and Australia, and translated for the French market.

The Rough Guide to eBay
Nik worked as technical editor for The Rough Guide to eBay, checking the technical accuracy of this 240-page guide to using the world's most recognised online auction house. Proofs were delivered in PDF format for speedy turn-around for this short-deadline project.

The Ultimate iPod Guide
The Ultimate iPod Guide is revised and republished every year in time to capitalise on Christmas sales. It covers every iPod, iTunes and associated kit, blending how-to guides, kit reviews and features. Nik has worked as editor and co-author since its inception. Now in its fourth edition, the 2009 version introduced innovative colour coding to its pages to guide users through the publication on the basis of their technical ability.

The Independent Guide to the Mac
The UK market supports four Mac-focused magazines, but there is no publication dedicated to those switching from the PC. This book caters to those, providing 260 pages of practical help and advice on chosing a Mac, buying software and using the two together for the first time. Drawing on material previously published in MacUser, and brand new content, it became Dennis Publishing's fastest-selling bookazine on its release.

Build a Better Website
Nik wrote three key chapters of this eight-chapter guide for first-time web developers. Taking on the coding, designing and CSS sections, he worked with a team of six writers and one editor to provide an end-to-end guide taking readers from registering their own domain to publishing their first site and integrating Flickr, Google Maps and data widgets on their pages.
